The Catholic Church has a new Pope and he’s an American! Father Robert Prevost is now Pope Leo XIV… President Trump signed a fair trade deal with the UK. Guessing this will be the first of many to come… Getting Russia to participate in the 2026 World Cup in the US could be incentive for Vladimir Putin to sign a peace accord with Ukraine. An angle I had not thought about. Now I'm rooting for Russia to be in the World Cup because of what that would probably mean... Is seems strange to say that we are moving to both becoming energy independent and an exporter of oil and LNG but also in an energy crisis at the same time but that's the case. All those planned AI data centers and expected service robots will require massive amounts of electricity. Makes use of nuclear power even more important... Hope if we reach a new tariff deal with Canada that America’s hat has to agree to accept all the people who swore they’d move to Canada if Donald Trump won a second term as a stipulation… Retirement for government employees is now all digital. No more depending on a salt mine and scoters! We should have white smoke for that too… You know that Father Prevost had a car while living in America. How would you like to be the salesman who sold that car? “The Pope trusted Bob the salesman for his new car - shouldn’t you?”… Learn something new every day: Suffolk, Virginia is known as the Peanut Capitol of the World. Who knew?... Scary thought but China has 5-times more the amount of planned electric generation than America. Energy could become a limiting factor for the US in AI. And for those worried about the environment - much of that planned power generation in China is from new coal powered plants... The new Pope has a history of being outspoken in favor of immigration but the Catholic Church is radically pro-life and against abortion. How does the new Pope handle those two issues?… Two things I'd like to see for our military (besides a small nuclear plant at each US base) are drone submarines and drone A10 Warthogs. The drone submarines could be silent killers and even the battlefield at sea and the A10 Warthog is basically a flying arsenal. A man can dream... Limited Usefulness would be a good name for an X or Substack account...
